Rückblick einer traumhaften Sportwoche auf Sardinien

Finally, after waiting the whole winter long, I was able to introduce my second, adopted home: The South of Sardinia at the Costa Rei. And I was looking forward to it like a kid in the candy shop!

This country has been an essential part of my life for over 15 years as I am having a personal and professional connection to Thomas the founder from Sardinienhaus. He is renting beautiful houses and apartments in that area.

It is also the foundation of my athletic activity in nature. When I used to live here, there were no fitness centers around, meaning that I had to get creative on my own in order to keep in shape. This resulted in a multitude of exercises and routines outside in the fresh air utilizing my own body weight.

Finally I had the opportunity to invite a SwissCityBootCamp group to experience all of this first-hand and on location: sport in combination with culture, people, joy, culinary pleasures, wonderful sea, beach, and so much more.

Before our group arrived, we started preparing everything: shopping and food for the week, welcome bag, training materials, bikes, surfing lessons, and a very balanced program.

We began the morning with an active BootCamp workout. Additionally, there were running sessions, as well as yoga and bike tours on our agenda. After the first workouts in the morning and a jointly prepared breakfast, we continued with the next sessions.

We designed the training sessions creatively while also ensuring that all fitness levels of our group are challenged, but neither too little nor too much. The moto of this week was: taking part is everyting, be curious about new things, spontaneity and go with the flow.

The most important one, however: “Never give up!“

Our social program besides sports activities included a relaxed evening cooking at home with a wonderful Sardinian cook, Iganzia, who was also taking care of our house..

As well as stress-free evenings at the beach and in typical, quaint taverns in the back country. There was something for every taste, and we even found time for partying.

But partying aside – the group’s motivation and energy were so awesome that we always provided each other with the strength and joy for the next workout even after just a few hours of sleep, and on top of it the fantastic view of the sea and sunshine sweetened our experience as well anew.

It was a diverse and fun week with very amazing participants!!!
